Lincoln The Prairie Capital: An Illustrated History is a book  about Lincoln, the state capital of Nebraska and how it came to be. The town itself was an unusual one for a state capital because unlike most it was built no where near a major waterway and the nearest trade route was the Oregon trail eight miles to the South. However it had one asset a major salt flat that brought in a lot of trading opportunities. Highlighting the story of how the prairie capital grew from a tiny settlement on the edge of a salt flat to a thriving modern city, this book is a great historical read.
