Backstage: Behind The Curtain Book | By Kent H. Theesen - As told by John Huthmacher
My dream of being somebody started in 1974 when I was a Jr. High reporter on KHAS Radio in Hastings thanks to my radio mentor Tom Evans Krause!
They say if you can DREAM it, then MAKE it HAPPEN! Behind every meet and greet, celebrity encounter over my last several years there is a story. This book is exactly that told to John Huthmacher over countless hours in this book.
What’s your brush with greatness? Nearly everyone has an answer to the question. Hastings native Kent Theesen has made it his mission to connect with greatness many times over. That journey resulted in a book published in September, 2018 titled “Backstage: Behind the Curtain.”
Theesen’s book is a fascinating collection of tales recounting numerous (over 50) encounters with famous people ranging from U.S. presidents to rock stars, sports figures, actors and many more. These encounters occurred while working as a disc jockey, actor, hospitality specialist, artist and photographer in Nebraska, Utah, California, and Spain.
Kent H. Theesen has been creating artwork for over thirty years. A graduate of Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1980, Theesen enjoyed several years in the Entertainment business as an air personality in various radio stations in the late 70's to the early 90's, working in Nebraska, Kansas, Utah and outside of Madrid, Spain at Torrejon AFB. Theesen also has been involved in the television and film industry since 1987 doing background work in over 25 productions, most recently Eagle Eye and Yes Man. Based in Hastings, Nebraska.
