Padauk Wood - Native to Central and tropical West Africa, the heartwood ranges from pinkish to a deep brownish red. Most pieces tend to start reddish orange when freshly cut, darkening over time to a reddish brown.

Purple Heart Wood- Native to Central and South America, the heartwood when freshly cut is a dull gravish/purple brown. Upon exposure, usually within a few days, the wood becomes a deeper eggplant color and will age to a very dark brown with a hint of purple.
