Legend has it, the chocolate chip was accidentally born in 1930 when Ruth Graves Wakefield of the Toll House Inn in Whitman, MA added chopped up pieces of Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate to a cookie recipe. No matter the details, we owe a debt of gratitude for this serendipitous delicacy- now in pancakes, for our pleasure!
