Immerse yourself in luxurious lather just like a buffalo in a dust bath with Buffalo Wallow Soap & Shampoo Bar! This multipurpose bar soap will cleanse, moisturize, and refresh your hair, beard, body, and feet from "horns to hooves".
Suggestions for Use:
- If fragrance is desired, drip several drops of your favorite essential oil onto bar and allow to penetrate for 24 hours before using.
- Leave the soap in the mesh bag to get a "scrubby" effect when using.
- Use as a shampoo bar. Wet hair, lather soap onto hands and apply to scalp. Rinse and repeat. Follow with a vinegar rinse (1-2 tablespoons vinegar in 2 cups of water). Rinse with clear water.
- Rub on clothing stains, especially plant-based stains, especially plant-based stains such as grass or food stains.
- Make your own laundry soap: Grate 1 bar with food grater into a large stockpot. Add 2 quarts distilled water; heat and stir until soap is dissolved. Add 5 ml. of your favorite essential oil (optional) and 2 quarts cool water. Mix well. Allow to thicken overnight. Use 1/8- 1/4 cup per load.
The Bredthauers suffered through the farm crisis of the early 1980’s, enduring high interest rates, falling commodity prices and storms that took their toll on livestock. In 1992 they moved to their present location, ready to make a new start. With Marty working an off-farm job, they no longer depended on the farm to support their family but did hope to get some supplemental income. A family vacation in 1993 to Fort Robinson, NE piqued their interest in buffalo. The Bredthauers took a tour of the herd and talked to the people who took care of them. They decided that marketing the meat would be most profitable, so they tried eating it several times to determine if they really liked it, and they did! Today they have a herd of around 100 animals, and their customer base has grown from curious samplers to loyal repeat customers who appreciate the quality and the health benefits of their meat.
