Ladder of Wisdom, a family game which teaches wisdom from the Bible
What Is It?
The initial offering uses the words Wisdom and Foolishness and Bible verses pertaining to those words to get families away from their phones for some fun, face to face interaction. The testing period has shown that players hear about the children’s schools, what the children think on various subjects and conversation that would never come up in daily living. There will be more offerings of opposite words such as love & hate, truth & lies, saved & unsaved, etc. All the time players are playing they have fun and learn about what the Bible says about the subjects. Promotes understanding rather than memorization.
Here is the video walk-through of how to play:

Instructions:
There is a Referee and 2 players can play or have up to 20 players on teams. The teams have a goal to reach Grace Abounds by placing tees on ladder after properly answering questions about Bible verses pertaining to wisdom and foolishness. The words wisdom and foolishness are placed in small coin envelopes and hidden for children to find. Then they open them in front of other players. Their team gets to confer with each other for the best meaning of the verse written on a wisdom or foolishness card. This is where great discussion occurs. With the Referee and the opposing team accepting their answer they can put a tee onto their ladder. If the word in the envelope is foolishness, the team needs to also answer a Second Chance question before they get to put a tee onto their ladder. There are floods, whales, river partings and other obstacles along the way. The Second Chance question stirs up minds and players learn a lot about the other players. This game deals with meanings of Bible and verse memorization. The playing time is about 45 minutes as we wanted it to fit into family or classroom times.
Recommended: 8 years to adult, younger children can be on teams.
