Cartoonist Paul Fell is at it again. This time he's put together a comical look at Nebraska's take on the English language. Check here for proper pronunciations of Beatrice (Bee-atrice), and nuclear (noo-cue-lar). Cartoon illustrated, of course.

  • 74 pages
  • 5.5" x 8.5"
  • Book is fairly small with large font and giant pictures.
  • Cartoon characters vary on every page in black and white

It was written by Paul Fell, who moved here from Massachusetts and had to learn the lingo. He is passing on his knowledge with a little humor. He started writing these books after being an award winning Lincoln Journal Star cartoonist for many years. Art is his favorite thing, and his career has reflected it.

Great gift!

Every place has their own "slang" as some call it. This is a fun, humorous gift to give anyone from NE!

Enjoyable Book

My daughter's fiance is headquartered in Omaha for 3M, and for a joke I was looking for the Nebraska version of our best-seller:
"How To Speak Minnesotan".
The book's not quite there, but I found it entertaining and probably would find it even more so if I knew some history about the places being mispronounced.
