Tailgate Potato Skins | Quick, Easy, & Packed With Flavor | Football Season Appetizer
It's finally that time of the year again, football season! Our beloved Husker football team has turned many heads this year and so will this dish! It is simple, easy, and full of flavor. Today we will be showcasing Simply Sunflower's Sunflower Oil and their recipe that has been a hit in my household already!
Simply Sunflower was born as a result of Farmer Al striving to be a better steward of the environment. He began using sunflowers as a renewable energy source on their farm and ranch near Ord, Nebraska. His property and farming business has been in the Koelling family for the past 120 years! The soil is rich in history and heritage and the family has always been filled with pioneers and innovators.
Ingredients :
- 4-5 Large Russet Potatoes
- 3 Tbsp. Simply Sunflower Oil
- 2 tsp. Salt
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 4-5 Bacon Slices, cooked and crumbled
- Sour Cream
- Sliced Green Onion
How To Make :
- Preheat oven to 400 Degrees F.
- Spray baking sheet with Simply Sunflower Oil.
- Wash and cut the potaties into 1/2 inch slices.
- Brush both sides of potatoes with Simply Sunflower Oil and arrange on baking sheet. Sprinkled with desired salt.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until tender. Flip potatoes halfway through baking.
- Once potatoes are done top with cheese and bacon. Bake for 2-3 more minutes or until cheese has melted.
- Top with sour cream, more cheese and bacon, or whatever you prefer!
