These wheat berries are a wonderful choice for people who like to bake with freshly ground wheat flour. Many of our customers like to sprout the berries before grinding and baking, or just sprout them for juicing.

Our USDA-certified organic hard red winter wheat is grown, and packaged on our farm in southwest Nebraska. The wheat berries are cleaned by a certified-organic cleaner--the only thing that is done off the farm. As with all our crops, we do not use herbicides, fungicides or pesticides. And of course, our wheat is non-GMO, as currently, there are no GMO wheat varieties being grown in the United States.
We package the berries for long term storage. They are heat sealed in a food-grade mylar bag. We preserve the freshness of our wheat by flushing the oxygen from the bag with food-grade carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is found naturally in the atmosphere and is completely safe. We have used this process for over 20 years and have never had bugs or any type of molds in our wheat. Finally, we package it in a 5 gallon food-grade bucket sealed with a tamper-resistant lid.
Allergy alert: May be prepared in an area that also contains milk, egg, fish, crustacean shell fish, tree nuts, peanuts, soybeans and wheat and wheat gluten.
A piece of fruit, paired with whole wheat toast topped with a little peanut butter makes a quick and very healthful breakfast. For a nice hot breakfast on cold winter days, make some REAL cream of wheat cereal with coarsely ground wheat and top it with walnuts and a little cinnamon! Our favorite Sunday supper here on the farm is freshly made whole wheat bread, some garden vegetables, and a little fruit. Of course the bread is made with the wheat we grow!
Adding whole grains to your diet can help with weight control as well as lower your risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Whole wheat, even ground into flour, provides healthy fiber from the bran and healthy oils which are found in the germ of whole wheat. High fiber foods, such as whole wheat, can help lower “bad” cholesterol, reducing your risk for heart disease. Whole grains digest more slowly than refined grains helping us feel full longer and reducing spikes in blood sugar. That’s why whole grains are a great choice for people who are concerned with blood sugar levels or maintaining a healthy heart--in other words--all of us!
